Jack Caldwell, Charley Cook and Dave IrishSailor of the Week: March 21-27, 2013
US Sailing congratulates Jack Caldwell (Fayetteville, Tenn.), Charley Cook (Marblehead, Mass.) and Dave Irish (Harbor Springs, Mich.) for their recognition as 2012 recipients of ISAF Long Service Gold Medals.
Irish has completed eight years of service as Vice President of ISAF (International Sailing Federation). He was significantly involved with integrating governance structure and support of big boat sailing within ISAF. Irish was also involved in competitor classification. He was elected to three, one-year terms as President of US Sailing and served 16 years on US Sailing’s Offshore Racing Council.
Caldwell has provided legal consultation and support to governance of ISAF and US Sailing. He was a member of ISAF’s Constitution Committee and Chairman of ISAF’s Review Board. Caldwell has been involved with US Sailing for over 30 years.
Cook was led the Olympic Race Management Team for the past two Games and Olympic Test Events. He was also a member of the ISAF Council and Chairman of the ISAF Race Officials Committee. He was an International Umpire at the Louis Vuitton Cup and an International Juror at the 2004 Olympic Games.
