Sailor of the Week - January, 2011

  • Ron Sherry Are you experiencing those winter sailing blues yet? Can’t wait for the spring season to get back out on the water? It’s January, and for those sailors who live in cold, icy parts of the country with very little escape time, this can be a rough time of year. Ron Sherryhas a suggestion on how to get your sailing fix this the winter.
  • Bob Hodges Multihull racing is on the rise thanks to countless sailors and volunteers who are running first-class events around the country, as well as introducing this form of exciting sailing to beginners. Bob Hodges is one of these contributors making a difference in the multihull sailing community.
  • Greg Nissen Last Week's SOTW: If you are planning on starting or expanding a community sailing program in your hometown, Greg Nissen has a blueprint for success you should consider.
  • Bill Fredericks Last Week's SOTW: Marine Corps First Lieutenant Bill Fredericks has taken a little piece of his passion for sailing with him to Afghanistan. Just prior to his big send-off on Jan. 9, Bill’s parents, Bill and Am, noticed their son had put a US SAILING sticker on his water bottle that was attached to his backpack and could not resist the photo op.
