Sailor of the Week - May, 2011
- Caroline Patten Caroline Patten has a lot to look forward to with a very busy and exciting sailing schedule on tap. Caroline is a senior skipper on the Hobart/William Smith College sailing team and a promising Lightning sailor. Last month, Caroline and her crew received a boat grant from the International Lightning Class Association.
- Lou Sandoval Lou Sandoval feels fortunate that the sport of sailing has played such an important role in his life today. “I am a bit of an anomaly when it comes to sailing,” he said. “I grew up in a part of the city where sailing wasn’t what you did.”
- Drake Jensen Drake Jensen (El Sobrante, Calif.), an 18 year old senior at De Anza High School, is recognized by those who know him as a fierce competitor on the water, but more importantly, as a determined survivor in his ongoing battle with Hodgkin Lymphoma.
- Peter Johns In the fall of 2007, the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association decided that they wanted to raise the level of officiating at their top level events. They turned to Peter Johns to make it happen.
