Sailor of the Week - December, 2010
- Nichole Rider As of last spring, Nichole Rider, a partial quadriplegic from Laramie, Wyo., knew very little about sailing. Fortunately for Nichole, sailing found her.
- Linda Merkle Last weekend’s U.S. Disabled Sailing Championships, hosted by the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, was an appropriate setting to celebrate and honor one of disabled sailing’s most outstanding contributors.
- Craig Smith Last Week's SOTW: Craig Smith, of Hatboro, Pa., knows how to promote participation in Thistle class sailing, and he also knows how to be a good sport.
- Art Bailey Last Week's SOTW: Art Bailey has been instrumental in revitalizing the E-Scow class on Barnegat Bay. Two years ago, Art and others initiated the E-Scow grant program with the Island Heights Sailing Foundation. The grant program was designed to provide more access to the E-Scow for young sailors (under the age of 25), and to participate competitively for a season.
