Sailor of the Week - May, 2010
- Stan Schreyer US SAILING congratulates Stan Schreyer of Northampton, Mass. for his role in breaking the new sailing speed record in the New York to Barcelona Transoceanic Sailing Race. The New York Yacht Club member along with crewmates, Pepe Ribes and Alex Pella from Spain, finished their journey across the Atlantic Ocean on Wednesday, April 21.
- Bill Bradford Regatta organizers across the country have been faced with adverse economic challenges over the past few years. Increasing and maintaining participation numbers is an on-going struggle for some. Bill Bradford of Hull, Mass. has proven that with creativity and teamwork, race organizers can host a first class regatta on a shoe-string budget.
- Holland "Cappy" Capper Holland “Cappy” Capper will be inducted into the Intercollegiate Sailing Association Hall of Fame at the awards banquet following the ICSA National Championships in Madison, Wisc. Cappy will receive the 2009-2010 ICSA Graham Hall Award for Outstanding Service as a Sailing Professional.
- Calvin Brouwer Earlier this month, Thames Yacht Club in New London, Conn. recently honored Calvin Brouwer for his 50 years of contributions to race management.
