  • US Sailing Launches Membership Matters Campaign May 15, 2012 – US Sailing is introducing a Membership Matters campaign to raise awareness about the importance of being a member of US Sailing. The initiative will detail how membership in US Sailing enables the organization to deliver the programs and services essential to all sailors in the U.S.
  • US Sailing to Conduct Independent Review on 2012 Newport to Ensenada Race May 14, 2012 - The US Coast Guard of San Diego has invited US Sailing, the National Governing Body for the sport, to conduct an independent review of the sailing accident that occurred during the 2012 Newport to Ensenada Yacht Race that resulted in the deaths of four sailors.
  • Old Pulteney, US Sailing Introduce Maritime Heroes Award Old Pulteney Single Malt Scotch Whisky and US Sailing introduce the inaugural Old Pulteney Maritime Heroes Award. The two brands have partnered to express appreciation to the men and women in sailing communities across the country for their humanitarian achievements.
  • ISAF Confirms Events, Equipment Selections for Rio 2016 Olympic Sailing Competition May 5, 2012 - The ISAF Council voted that Kiteboarding will replace windsurfing for the men's and women's board events and confirmed the equipment that will be used for the Women's Skiff and Mixed Multihull Events.
  • US Sailing to Conduct Independent Study on 2012 Crewed Farallones Race The US Coast Guard has requested that US Sailing, the National Governing Body for the sport, conduct an independent review of the sailing accident that occurred during the 2012 Crewed Farallones Race from San Francisco, Calif. that resulted in the deaths of five sailors.
  • Zim Becomes Official Sponsor of US Sailing April 17, 2012 – US Sailing and Zim Sailing, a North American manufacturer of one-design sailboats, have come to terms on a multi-year sponsorship deal. Zim is an official sponsor for several major US Sailing events, including four National Championships and US Sailing’s National Sailing Programs Symposium.
