SAUSALITO, Calif. (September 6, 2013) – Sailing conditions in San Francisco Bay returned true to form on day two of the U.S. Multihull Championship, hosted by the Sausalito Yacht Club. Stronger winds did not hold back Thursday’s leaders Enrique Figueroa and crew Carla Malatrasi of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Figueroa and Malatrasi won four of five races today to take a commanding 25-point lead over the 21-boat Hobie 16 fleet.
Race 4 began on flat water with just six knots. The wind slowly built throughout the afternoon on a spectacular day on the bay. By mid-afternoon breeze picked up to 12 knots and by the end of the day wind speeds ranged from 15 to 17 knots.
The top U.S. team in the fleet is Mike Montague (Santa Rosa, Calif.) and Kathy Ward (Sacramento, Calif.). Trailing Figueroa are four teams within five points of each other.

About Old Pulteney
Old Pulteney Single Malt Scotch Whisky is crafted at Pulteney Distillery in Wick, Scotland. The distillery was founded in 1826 by James Henderson at the height of Wick’s herring boom. The distillery lies in the heart of “Pulteneytown,” which was one of the largest and most important herring fishing ports in Europe. Old Pulteney has a long standing association with the sea and is the official scotch of US Sailing. Its carefully crafted taste carries the windswept and rugged character of the North, the salty and fresh air of the North Sea, and the distillery’s rich maritime heritage runs through every drop of this fine malt.
