US Sailing Championship to be Decided in Hobie 16s on San Francisco Bay

The 2013 U.S. Multihull Championship for the Hobie Alter Trophy will enter the fray of catamaran excitement in the 'Summer of Racing' on San Francisco Bay as some of the top sailors in the world will be competing in the area this September.
This year’s U.S. Multihull Championship coincides with the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup racing series, as well as the beginning of the America’s Cup final series. On Saturday, September 7, racing will be conducted on the San Francisco Bay city front between The St. Francis Yacht Club and Marina Green. Day three competition on this course takes place the morning of opening day for the American's Cup.
Doublehanded teams will compete in the Hobie 16, one of the largest multihull classes in the world. The U.S. Multihull Championship is a ‘bring your own boat’ (BYOB) event with no area qualifiers or invitations. The event is open to all interested sailors and there are no citizenship requirements.

There will also be Guest Expert Clinic preceding the championship on September 4, followed by a Welcome Party for all competitors.
