- Newberry Becomes First Woman Skipper to win U.S. Multihull Championship November 18, 2012 – Sarah Newberry and Kenny Pierce capped a perfect week by finishing first in Sunday’s only race. The duo won the 2012 U.S. Multihull Championship, hosted by the Pensacola Beach Yacht Club, with 14 wins in 14 races.
- Newberry on Brink of History at US Multihull Championship November 17, 2012 – Sarah Newberry is on the verge of becoming the first woman skipper to ever win the Hobie Alter Trophy at the U.S. Multihull Championship. Newberry and crew Kenny Pierce are undefeated this week on Santa Rosa Sound. They have won all 13 races, including four on Saturday.

- Titles Decided in San Diego at US Disabled Sailing Championships October 28, 2012 – Sunday’s competition on North San Diego Bay wrapped up another successful edition of the US Disabled Sailing Championships, hosted by the Southwestern Yacht Club. Titlists were crowned in three championship fleets in single-, double-, and triplehanded racing.
- US Disabled Sailing Championship Day Two Report October 27, 2012 – Five races are complete in San Diego at the US Disabled Sailing Championships, hosted by the Southwestern Yacht Club. Sunday will be the third and final day of action on North San Diego Bay for these elite athletes competing in single-, double-, and triplehanded fleets.
- San Diego Welcomes 2012 US Disabled Sailing Championships This Week October 24, 2012 – Perhaps, no other US Sailing National Championship demonstrates more spirit and courage than the U.S. Disabled Sailing Championships. The 2012 edition of this unique event is hosted by the Southwestern Yacht Club in San Diego, Calif. this Friday through Sunday. Sailors will compete in the area of North San Diego Bay in single-, double-, and triplehanded championship fleets.
- NYYC Team Extreme Captures Second US Team Racing Championship October 21, 2012 - It was another stellar day on Larchmont Harbor for the US Team Racing Championship finale, hosted by Larchmont Yacht Club. The 12 teams finished their second Round Robin stage, and the top six teams advanced to the Gold Round Robin Finals where points were doubled. In the end, it was Team Extreme of the New York Yacht Club, winning their second Hinman Trophy.
- 2012 US Team Racing Championship Day Two Report October 20, 2012 - Saturday proved to be another banner day of racing on Larchmont Harbor at the US Team Racing Championship, hosted by the Larchmont Yacht Club. The 12 teams are halfway through the second Round Robin stage and the leaderboard includes some familiar names.
- 2012 US Team Racing Championship Day One Report October 19, 2012 - As expected, the competition was outstanding and the conditions were very challenging on Friday at the US Team Racing Championship, hosted by the Larchmont Yacht Club. Twelve teams in pursuit of the historic Hinman Trophy took on Larchmont Harbor in gusty breezes, considerable chop, and rain in the first of three days of racing.
- US Team Racing Championship Preview - Top Teams Compete This Weekend in Larchmont October 17, 2012 - Twelve of the best teams from the United States and Great Britain will compete for the esteemed George R. - Eckert Holds on for Win at Championship of Champions Sept. 30, 2012 – In what appeared to be a runaway for Ed Eckert, August Barkow had other plans for Sunday's finale at the Championship of Champions in Wisconsin. Barkow chipped away at Eckert’s 19 point lead from the start of today’s racing. However, his late surge came up just short as Eckert held on for the victory by two points.
- Eckert Takes Control at Championship of Champions September 29, 2012 – Scow racers are reigning supreme in Wisconsin this weekend at the 2012 Championship of Champions. Through six races, the 2012 C-Scow National Champion, Ed Eckert, and crew Matthew Schmidt have built a comfortable lead.
- Racing Limited on Day One at Championship of Champions September 28, 2012 – The breeze on Lake Pewaukee simply would not cooperate on Friday. The field of 20 teams managed just one race on day one of the 2012 Championship of Champions, hosted by Pewaukee Yacht Club. This US Sailing National Championship event will resume Saturday morning at 9:30 am CT.
- Gulari Headlines US Sailing’s 2012 Championship of Champions This Week in Wisconsin September 26, 2012 – Twenty of the top one-design skippers in the country will gather in Wisconsin this weekend for three days of racing at US Sailing’s Championship of Champions, hosted by the Pewaukee Yacht Club from Friday, September 28 to Sunday, September 30. These skippers and their teams will race for class bragging rights and the Jack Brown Trophy.
- Canfield Wins First U.S. Match Racing Championship September 23, 2012 – After finishing second at the last two U.S. Match Racing Championships, Taylor Canfield and his crew rose to the occasion on Sunday and defeated two-time champion Dave Dellenbaugh in the Finals, 3-2.
- U.S. Match Racing Championship Day Three Report September 22, 2012 – The table is set for a climactic finish, as the 10 teams completed the second Round Robin and Quarterfinals on Saturday at the U.S. Match Racing Championship, hosted by the Boston Yacht Club.
- U.S. Match Racing Championship Day Two Report September 21, 2012 – Sailors were greeted with light breeze for most of Friday on day two of the U.S. Match Racing Championship, hosted by the Boston Yacht Club. After finishing the first Round Robin stage on Thursday, the 10 teams managed to complete seven of the nine races scheduled for the second Round Robin. They will finish the round tomorrow and advance to the knockout series.

- U.S. Match Racing Championship Day One Report September 20, 2012 – Ten talented teams started the first of four days of racing in Marblehead on Thursday at the U.S. Match Racing Championship, hosted by the Boston Yacht Club. The first Round Robin stage was completed and Taylor Canfield got off to another great start by winning 8 of 9 races to lead the way.
- Strong Field in Marblehead for U.S. Match Racing Championship September 19, 2012 – American match racing guru Dave Perry will attempt to capture an unprecedented fifth U.S. Match Racing Championship this week in Marblehead, Mass. Ten teams will compete in Sonars for the Prince of Wales Bowl at the 2012 U.S. Match Racing Championship, hosted by the Boston Yacht Club. This four day US Sailing National Championship starts this Thursday.
- Tulloch Wins Third U.S. Women's Match Racing Championship September 16, 2012 – For the third time in four years, Genny Tulloch has won the U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship. Tulloch and her crew were dominant this week by winning all 21 matches they raced. They put the finishing touches on this fantastic four-day event by winning 3-0 over Nicole Breault in today's Finals.
- Tulloch vs Breault in Sunday's U.S. Women's Match Racing Championship September 15, 2012 – Saturday’s racing decided who will reach the Finals of the U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship, hosted by the St. Francis Yacht Club. Genny Tulloch and Nicole Breault will square off in Sunday’s Final series. A win for Tulloch would mark her third Allegra Knapp Mertz Trophy.
- U.S. Women's Match Racing Championship Day 2 Report September 14, 2012 – Friday was another day of stellar sailing conditions and outstanding skill demonstrated by the competing teams at the U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship, hosted by St. Francis Yacht Club. The final four flights of the second round robin and the first four flights of the third round robin were completed.
- U.S. Women's Match Racing Championship Day One Report September 13, 2012 – The first day of racing at the U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship, hosted by St. Francis Yacht Club, was spirited by typical ideal conditions on San Francisco Bay. The six teams competing this year finished the first round robin stage and the first flight in the second round robin.
- U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship Starts Thursday in San Francisco September 12, 2012 – The St. Francis Yacht Club will host the 2012 U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship for four days of racing this week on San Francisco Bay. Six teams of four will be competing in J/22s for the Allegra Knapp Mertz Trophy this Thursday, Sept. 13 through Sunday, Sept. 16. This US Sailing Championship is a Qualifying Event for the 2012 ISAF Nations Cup Regional Finals.

These discussions typically revolve around what to do with the fleet. Do we patch our boats to “squeak” one more year out of them? Do we clean them up to sell? - Grand Prize Winner Announced for US Sailing’s Greatest American Sailor Sweepstakes August 29, 2012 – US Sailing has announced the Grand Prize winner of the Greatest American Sailor Sweepstakes, a feature of US Sailing’s Membership Matters campaign. Gary Weisman of San Diego, Calif. was randomly selected as the lucky winner following the conclusion of the Greatest American Sailor Tournament.
- Independent Panel to Review U.S. Olympic Sailing Program August 29, 2012 - US Sailing President Gary Jobson has appointed an independent panel to review the U.S. Olympic Sailing Program. Leading the panel will be the new Managing Director of U.S. Olympic Sailing, Josh Adams.

- 2012 US Youth Sailing Championship Final Report August 18, 2012 - For the second straight day, light air ruled on the Gorge for the final day of racing at the US Youth Sailing Championship. The Lasers, Laser Radials and Club 420s completed one race each, and the 29ers never got off the starting line.
- US Youth Sailing Championship - Day 3 Report August 17, 2012 - Sailing conditions deviated from the ordinary on the Columbia River Gorge at the US Youth Championships, the third day of competition at this US Sailing National Championship. Sailors were greeted with two days of whistling breeze on Wednesday and Thursday. However, fleets were challenged in much lighter breezes on Friday, and ultimately, racing was cut short.
- US Youth Sailing Championships - Day Two Report August 16, 2012 - Leaders from Wednesday’s racing held their ground on Thursday during US Sailing’s 2012 US Youth Championships, hosted by the Columbia River Gorge Racing Association. Several teams broke away from their respective fleets atop the leaderboard and are attempting to run away with the title. However, with two days of racing left on the Gorge, nothing has been decided and anything is possible.
- US Youth Sailing Championship Day One Report August 15, 2012 – Four fleets set sail on the Columbia River Gorge for the opening day of the 2012 US Youth Championships, a US Sailing National Championship. The day was highlighted by close competition at the top of the leaderboards in high wind speeds surpassing 15 mph.
- The Gorge Welcomes US Sailing’s U.S. Youth Championships August 14, 2012 – Talented young sailors in four fleets will be put to the test this week on the Columbia River Gorge at US Sailing’s 2012 Youth Championships. The four day regatta begins this Wednesday, August 15. The Columbia Gorge Racing Association in Cascade Locks, Ore. will play host to this premier US Sailing Championship.
- US Sailing’s 2012 Chubb US Junior Championships Final Report August 10, 2012 – Friday’s final day of racing at US Sailing’s Chubb US Junior Championships on San Francisco Bay proved to be a climactic finish for all three talented fleets. The Sears Cup and the Bemis and Smythe Trophies were up for grabs in what was truly a great day for these young athletes.

- US Sailing Releases Full Report on Farallones Race Tragedy August 6, 2012 – A US Sailing independent review panel has released the report on its investigation of the sailing accident that occurred on April 14, 2012 during the Full Crew Farallones Race out of San Francisco, Calif.
- Blecher and Johnson Capture the 2012 US Singlehanded Championships The US Singlehanded Championship saw two very different endings in the Men’s and Women’s divisions this weekend. Clay Johnson had little more to do than make it around the course, as he coasted comfortably to win his first O’Day Trophy. Allie Blecher overcame early struggles on day one, winning seven races in a row on the final two days to capture her first Helen Willis Hanley Trophy.
- Johnson and Blecher Flawless in Sheboygan past Collegiate All-American’s put on a clinic today on Lake Michigan. Clay Johnson and Allie Blecher lead the Men’s and Women’s divisions at US Singlehanded Championships, a US Sailing National Championship. For the second day in a row, five races were held by Sail Sheboygan.
- Strong Start for Johnson and Weaver in Sheboygan July 27, 2012 – Clay Johnson and Hanne Weaver took control of the leaderboard on day one of the US Singlehanded Championships, a US Sailing National Championship hosted by Sail Sheboygan this year. The men’s and women’s divisions completed five races Friday on Lake Michigan.

- Conner Wins US Sailing’s Greatest American Sailor Tournament July 16, 2012 - National Sailing Hall of Famer and three-time winner of US Sailing's Rolex Yachtsman of the Year Dennis Conner is the last man standing in US Sailing’s Greatest American Sailor Tournament. Conner proved to be the people’s choice after edging fellow Hall of Famer Buddy Melges in last week’s Championship Round.
- Weaver Captures US Junior Women's Singlehanded Championship The final day of racing at the US Junior Women’s Singlehanded Championship was sailed in a mild easterly breeze of 6 to 8 knots with minimal chop. After numerous postponements and general recalls at the start of the day, Hanne Weaver seized control, and locked up an impressive victory over the field of 48.
- US Junior Women's Singlehanded Championship - Day 2 Report July 10, 2012 – Choppy seas forged from a northeastern breeze of 12 to 15 knots, set the stage for the second day of racing at the US Junior Women’s Singlehanded Championship, hosted by Chicago Yacht Club. Hanne Weaver took advantage of Tuesday’s strong winds as she surged to the front of the pack.

- U.S. Junior Women’s Singlehanded Championship Begins Monday in Chicago July 6, 2012 – US Sailing’s 2012 US Junior Women’s Singlehanded Championship is coming to the “Windy City” July 9-11 for three days of racing on Lake Michigan.
- Donahue, Widmeier Claim US Junior Women's Doublehanded Championship June 29, 2012 - Light winds dominated the third and final day of the 2012 US Junior Women’s Doublehanded Championship. The race committee attempted to get an early jump on the day to no avail, as the weather refused to cooperate. Yesterday’s leaders Allyson Donahue and Maddie Widmeier were crowned 2012 champs after finishing second last year.
- U.S. Junior Women's Doublehanded Championship Day 2 Recap June 28, 2012 – Thirty-eight teams set out on Lake Minnetonka late this morning for the second day of the U.S. Junior Women’s Doublehanded Championship. Allyson Donahue and Maddie Widmeier maintained a narrow one point lead over Carolyn Smith and Bayley Davidson, as the two teams distance themselves from the rest of the fleet. Tomorrow’s final day of racing is set to start at 9:30 am CT.

- US Sailing Independent Review Panel Makes Determination in Newport to Ensenada Race Tragedy A US Sailing Independent Review Panel has come to a conclusion regarding the cause of accident during the 2012 Newport to Ensenada Race that resulted in the deaths of four sailors on April 28. Aegean, a 37-foot Hunter 376 sailboat, was destroyed during the race a few miles offshore near Mexico’s Coronado Islands. The Panel is confident that a grounding on North Coronado Island is the cause of accident.

- US Sailing to Conduct Independent Review on 2012 Newport to Ensenada Race May 14, 2012 - The US Coast Guard of San Diego has invited US Sailing, the National Governing Body for the sport, to conduct an independent review of the sailing accident that occurred during the 2012 Newport to Ensenada Yacht Race that resulted in the deaths of four sailors.
- Old Pulteney, US Sailing Introduce Maritime Heroes Award Old Pulteney Single Malt Scotch Whisky and US Sailing introduce the inaugural Old Pulteney Maritime Heroes Award. The two brands have partnered to express appreciation to the men and women in sailing communities across the country for their humanitarian achievements.
- ISAF Confirms Events, Equipment Selections for Rio 2016 Olympic Sailing Competition May 5, 2012 - The ISAF Council voted that Kiteboarding will replace windsurfing for the men's and women's board events and confirmed the equipment that will be used for the Women's Skiff and Mixed Multihull Events.

- Zim Becomes Official Sponsor of US Sailing April 17, 2012 – US Sailing and Zim Sailing, a North American manufacturer of one-design sailboats, have come to terms on a multi-year sponsorship deal. Zim is an official sponsor for several major US Sailing events, including four National Championships and US Sailing’s National Sailing Programs Symposium.
