Last weekend's U.S. Youth Multihull Champions Taylor Reiss (Panama City, Fla.) and Matthew Whitehead (Panama City, Fla.) have a share of the lead after three races with Nigel and Tammy Pitt of Hartwell, Ga. Nigel Pitt won the title in 2008. Reiss finished the day with a 1-2-5 scoring line, while Pitt recorded 2-5-1 on the day for a total of eight points. They are followed closely by Matt Struble (San Diego, Calif.) and Damon Lacasella (San Diego, Calif.) who are one point behind. They finished third in all three races today. Teams raced in light breeze today with wind speeds at 5-7 knots.

Twenty races are scheduled. Three races must be completed to constitute a championship. When fewer than six races have been completed, a team’s series score will be the total of all scores. When six or more races have been completed, a team’s series score will be the total of its race scores excluding its worst excludable score.
